The schedule for release of the draft UDO, public review, and City Council adoption is being updated. Here’s why:
The UDO is a set of regulations. Charlotte’s regulations are typically written based on policy. Policies are adopted by the Charlotte City Council to provide guidance in developing ordinances and regulations. The policy guiding the UDO is the Charlotte Future 2040 Comprehensive Plan, which is currently being reviewed by City Council without an exact date planned for a vote.
The draft UDO is expected to be available for public review approximately 4-6 weeks after adoption of the Comprehensive Plan by City Council. In the meantime, visit the Charlotte Future 2040 Comprehensive Plan webpage here.
